Driver-Assist Features

Both the Nissan Kicks and Rogue are packed with innovative features designed to make every drive easier and safer, like:

  • Brake Assist: Prepares the brakes for maximum stopping power if it senses you’re approaching a vehicle too quickly.
  • High Beam Assist: Automatically switches from high to low beams when it detects oncoming traffic, so as not to blind other drivers.
  • Blind Spot Warning: Notifies you when there’s a vehicle in your blind spot so that you can change lanes safely.
  • Lane Departure Warning: Alerts you if you drift out of your lane without signaling.
  • Intelligent Driver Alertness: Monitors your driving and notifies you if it detects signs of drowsiness or inattention.
  • Rear Collision Sensors: Beeps to warn you if you’re getting too close to something behind you while parking or reversing at low speeds.

However, both vehicles offer higher-end trims like the Kicks SR and Rogue SL or Platinum, which provide more advanced features like:

  • Traffic Sign Recognition: Reads traffic signs and displays them on your dash to help you stay informed.
  • Intelligent Around View® Monitor: Gives you a 360° bird’s-eye view around your car to make parking and tight maneuvers easier.
  • Intelligent Lane Intervention: Helps keep you centered in your lane by gently steering you back if you start to drift unintentionally.
  • Intelligent Cruise Control: Maintains a specific distance from the car ahead of you by automatically braking or accelerating as needed.
  • Front and Rear Collision Sensors: When parking or driving at low speeds, these sensors detect objects in front of and behind your car and alert you as you get closer. Some systems can even stop the vehicle automatically.

Performance and Fuel Economy

The 2025 Nissan Kicks is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 141 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with an Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)®, which helps deliver strong fuel economy. The car offers 28 miles per gallon (MPG) in the city and 35 MPG on the highway, resulting in a combined 31 MPG.

In contrast, the 2025 Nissan Rogue offers a smaller 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that can operate in Eco and Sport mode, and the same Xtronic CVT® as the Kicks. But thanks to its turbocharger, it’s no slouch. This low-volume beast provides 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, all while maintaining 29-30 MPG in the city and 36-37 MPG on the highway, for a combined 33 MPG, depending on trim level.

While the Rogue does slightly outperform the Kicks in this category, which makes it the perfect option for road trips, the Kicks is an excellent option for daily driving and commuting. No matter which model you choose, you’ll have plenty of power for the freeway and enough fuel efficiency for the city.
